Save-the-Date Right

Save-the-date cards have almost become essential these days. The reason is they allow you to establish a pretty accurate headcount of who will be attending the wedding way ahead of time. However, when you send save-the-dates out, you want to make sure you’re reminding your guests who have not responded to do so. This process has the potential to linger and that is something you want to stay away from.

Save-the-date cards have evolved from their days of just including the location, date, and wedding names. They can perhaps contain more information than the actual invitation, and thank goodness they have. It takes time for all your guests to be able to plan, schedule, and organize getting to your wedding. This is what makes a save-the-date so important. It allows your guests to know of your upcoming wedding in advance. Including information such as local hotels, travel details, and a link to your wedding website. All of these give your guests the ability to start scheduling and organizing their trip. It’s great to include this information within your save-the-date because you don’t want to wait till you give your invitations out. Including sufficient information that is of use to your guests is a game changer.  save-the-date

Now you don’t want to go overboard with your information. How can you go overboard? Including your registry in your save-the-date. This is highly inappropriate to print this on your card. There are places for your registry, such as your online wedding website. Your guests shouldn’t feel obligated to give you gifts and putting it on your card will send the wrong message. When you receive a gift you want it to be genuine and not make your guests feel like they are obligated.

Although cards are the standard for save-the-dates this is not the only outlet you can use. One that really stands out is a save-the-date magnet. This is a great alternative because it sticks and constantly reminds your guests of your big day. Magnets will not get lost in piles, they will be stuck somewhere that can be seen and always in the front of your guests minds. Magnets are possibly the best alternative because of this reason alone. save-the-date
