How much do you really know about Black Friday? Here’s a quick history on the annual shopping frenzy following Thanksgiving:
- Black Friday was originally named for the crash of the U.S. gold market in 1869
- Retailers used to color-code accounting losses in red and profits in black, eventually adopted as the modern-day origin of the name
- By the 1980s, Black Friday became more widely associated with deep discounts on the day after Thanksgiving

Every individual has a story to tell. A story that is different from the rest and deserves to be delivered in the correct manner. Now, “correct manner,” is not uniform, it’s divergent. Constantly diving in different directions. When i think of a business card, i think of a opportunity to
tell a story. Whether that be for the company i work for, or simply myself. It’s an outlet, a medium, or even a platform to get your story heard in the crucial moments, and in the most important encounters.
Spring break is quickly approaching, and it’s better to prepare sooner rather than later. This time of year brings in many visitors and customers to the strip and surrounding areas. It’s a paramount time for Las Vegas nightlife and restaurants, it can either bring success or failure. Having the right marketing that embodies the time and season is key.
There are really no limits in the city of sin, and the same goes for marketing here. As long as your strategies are constantly refreshed, new, and current you’re on the right track. As we leave winter behind, we turn into the bright, sunny days of spring. Drop the darker colors and replace them with colors that burst with energy. All visitors are coming to enjoy the warm weather and beaming rays of the sun. Visually appeal to their senses with stunning pieces that instantly transport them to paradise. Paradise, Las Vegas that is.
Warm weather brings long, relaxing days by the pool. Perhaps you should start to consider updating your poolside menu. I suggest using a premium 11″ x 17″ Brochure. The reason is, it’s a very durable and substantial product that can bear the heat. Choose from our selection of Tri-fold options, Z-fold, and Bi-fold. There is something for every type of menu, no matter how short or how long. All brochures come with full 4:4 printing that can turn any dull color into a radiant one. This is a huge time for Las Vegas pools. Every guest is coming to finally dust off that cold weather. Now is when you should not only think about updating your menu but doing it in complete style. Intrigue your guests to buy, just by displaying what they “want to see.”
Fine dining can also take advantage of what is coming. Spring break means customers pouring into Las Vegas, and they only want the best when they arrive. Show potential customers your exquisite taste and spark their interest. The product i recommend using is our 3 .5″ x 2″ FAT Business Card. The reason is you want to send a message of luxury quality, and upscale dining. This card exceeds expectations and captures attention without hesitancy. Made with over twice the thickness of our Standard Business Card, this card is at 34pt stock! It’s elegantly substantial, with just the right amount of thickness and weight. I recommend using double-sided to give off a “complete” look. On the front of the card should be the name of the restaurant, location, and contact. The back of the card is entirely what you desire. Place a discount offer or simply your logo on a clean background or vice versa.
This last product is what Las Vegas is known for, and that of course is our nightlife. With so many astonishing clubs, it quickly has turned into a competition. If you want to surpass your competitors all the details add up. Just like fine dining, the nightlife of Las Vegas is meant to be luxurious and extravagant. To uphold the standard, every aspect of what your club represents has to be incorporated into your marketing tools. For this I recommend our 3″ x 3″ Circle Fat Cards. I love this product because it’s not too big and it’s not too small. It also has a very unique shape and look that can really get customers attention. It also has the thickness of a FAT card, which means you’re still getting that 34pt card stock. It will never look or feel flimsy, or of cheap quality. When you see most people promoting their nightlife, they use products that look cheap. This can turn quickly into a negative perception with customers. If you want more customers you have to sell “Vegas.” This means everything you do must be glitzy and beyond exception.
The next major Las Vegas convention is about to arrive. From February 15th-18th, the MAGIC Convention will host fashions largest marketplace; and will be composed of numerous communities exhibiting the latest fashion trends. Everything from men’s, children, and women’s fashion lines will be showcasing unique and new apparel. MAGIC is home to the most well-known fashion lines to the up and coming.
If you’re looking to create an impact at this show, it’s all about having the minuscule details intact. It’s about complimenting your apparel with quality printing that reflects your vision and standard. Luckily, you have come to the right place. Overnight Prints is not just an online printing company. We are a company that upholds excellence in luxurious printing, services, and delivery. Our team is here to assist you in delivering your message and targeting audiences in a bold way. Here are a couple of products that can significantly enhance your brand image at this years convention.
Garment tags are a necessity at any fashion show. They add additional information about your clothing line and give it a touch of elegance. Our 2″ x 6″ Bookmarks happen to serve as the ideal garment tag. They offer sufficient amount of space for both texts and designs. Our 15pt card stock is thick and flexible and gives you the best of both worlds. This paper stock is also outstanding for images and any photography. If you have an intriguing design on the bookmark, we recommend highlighting the design with Spot-UV Gloss. This will leave the rest of the card untouched by coating while your design sparkles and shines with sophistication and detail. Stand out from the crowd by implementing the details that make new business connections, and make endless sales.
Example of our Bookmark as a garment tag
The next product we recommend having is our standard business card. At conventions you never know who you might come across, and this is why you must be prepared. Everyone forms opinions in an instant, make sure you make a statement with a superior business card. Our standard card surpasses “standard,” by using solid 15pt card stock. Choose from full gloss, spot gloss, or soft touch laminate, all possess a unique feel and look. When you possess a quality card the chances of you being remembered are extremely high. Don’t miss out on getting new clients and customers at this years fashion show.
The following two products we recommend using capture attention and are aimed at driving sales. These products happen to be our posters and flyers. At a convention you want to grab attention and bring customers to your area. Our posters can pull customers in because of their tremendous sizing. Printed on 100# gloss book stock your poster will be both durable and of the utmost thickness. Showcase your line in a huge way and get the attention and recognition your fashion deserves.
Flyers seamlessly go with posters to create the ideal advertising and marketing scheme for your booth. Choose from two of our premium stock papers which are, 15pt card stock and 110# premium non-coated stock. Both paper stocks work wonderfully, however if you will be displaying more images our 15pt card stock is the better choice. If you would like to display illustrations and vector art we suggest using 110# stock. After you decide on the stock of your choice, choose from our full-UV and spot-UV finishing glosses.

We understand that most people will be traveling to the convention. Traveling with print products can be at minimum a hassle. Lugging them around, damaging them in the process, and getting charged extra is really not fun. No longer do you have to worry about all those things, because Las Vegas is home to a newly built Pickup Center. This means you can travel lighter and comfortably. Upon ordering you will receive a confirmation email of your purchase, and another email once your items are ready for pick up. Overnight Prints Pickup Center is conveniently located just off the strip and a short ten minute drive from Mandalay Bay Convention Center. No more difficulty traveling or any worries of damaging your product.
We hope this blog provides you with some ideas on how to spice up your booth. If you need design help, please contact email@example.com or visit us here for information about what we can do for you and your upcoming exhibit in Las Vegas. Our products help better communicate and express your fashion story. Start turning heads today.
Why be standard? When you can express your uniqueness to every individual you come across? That is the question you should ask yourself before starting to create your business card. There are plenty of standard, black and white, let’s face it, boring business cards floating around out there. That doesn’t mean you should blend in with the crowd or just try to be conservative. Business cards are essentially an extension of who you are and what you bring to the table. You don’t want your business card to read exactly the same as all of your competitors. If you want that job, if you want to make a lasting impression; it all starts with a business card.
As stated previously, a business card is an extension of who you are. So, ask the question who are you? What makes you special? Then transfer it over onto paper. One way you can do this is using bright and bold colors. Rich blues, gold, and bright reds are some examples. However, you don’t want to just have one of those colors make up the entire card. If done this way, your card will be overwhelming and in-creative. The trick is to mix and match colors, but really think about what colors complement each other. If you go to Google and look up complimenting colors, you will find a lot of information. Turquoise mixed with white looks very elegant, bright, and peaceful. Red and light blue also complement each other quite nicely, the complementing colors are endless. What colors represent your personality and express who you are? This is what it comes down to.
So we all know the stereotypical 3.5″ x 2″ business card. Must we stick to the standard? NO! Overnight Prints has a plethora of non-standard business cards. Why not completely change the shape of your business card to let’s say a 3″ x 3″ Circle Business Card? Or what about a 2.5″ x 2.5″ Square Business Card? Or maybe you can still keep that standard size but spice it up with extra thick 34pt card stock with our FAT Business Card. These cards automatically stick out with either their distinguished shape or superior thickness. Whoever you give your card to will notice and remember you just by the quality, shape, and texture of an Overnight Prints business card. Once you place your color using 4:4 full color printing, your card will already be expressing quality and uniqueness and these are two factors that matter.
Now, going back to color. They don’t have to be extremely bold to be considered unique. They can also be subdued, light, and tranquil. It depends on again who you are, or maybe your job position, and what you do. If you work by the beach or are for example a yoga instructor, you might want to use those lighter tones. In this case the lighter tones work perfectly. It expresses relaxation, peace, and if your job embodies this, you don’t want your business card to communicate and entirely different message.
Of course, the most important part is placing your information and contact on the card. So, this brings us to choosing the correct font. There are an abundant, almost innumerable amounts of fonts circulating. Knowing this, there is one that fits effortlessly and accurately for everyone.
Now for some examples…
If you are in marketing or business, you want a solid, simple, and sophisticated font. My suggestions: “Josefin Sans,” “Adamina,” and a good old “Helvetica.”
Let’s say you’re a copywriter and want to express the beauty of words on paper. My suggestions: “Magnolia,” “Allura,” or “Handwriting-Dakota.”
Maybe you’re a graphic illustrator, my suggestions: Use my personal favorite “Matilde,” “Arcata,” or Josefin Slab.”
Your font should coincide with who you are and what you do. These are only font suggestions, if you find others that you love, don’t be afraid to choose those. Business cards are all about expression and being true to you.
If you have never thought about your business card or just rushed through the process. It’s time to really think about your business card. You want to make great impressions not average ones, and you want to get that job, not be disregarded. Business cards are not only essential they are critical and vital in establishing relationships and making connections that last.

Are you tired of using the same standard looking print products? If you are, all it takes is one simple addition to completely change the look of your business card. I’m talking about Spot-UV. If you have never heard of Spot-UV, it’s a shiny added layer applied to a design or portion of print products such as business cards, postcards, and posters.
Spot-UV will give attention and dramatize an important part of your card or product in which you want to emphasize. Any time light hits the Spot-UV it shines, shimmers, and stands out. For instance, if you have your company logo, company name, or design you can put the spotlight onto this and bring it out by giving that section a high-gloss, very luminous effect.
We were extremely happy to have the chance to work with Ben Kwok, who is an amazing visual designer and illustrator. If you want to know more about Ben, please read our previous blog post entitled “Artistic Genius Ben Kwok Speaks.” In today’s blog we used Ben’s outstanding and highly intricate work to showcase the strong and eye-catching effect of Spot-UV.
We took Ben’s “Tiger Helm” design and placed it on one of our 4 x 6 postcards. As you can see the difference from photo 1 and photo 2 is that the Tiger Helm is shining and is really highlighting the detail of the design. We loved this illustration because you can see the Spot-UV reflect the light and shine off the design while the rest of the card is standard, and does not have gloss. The design as you can see completely stands out from the card and immediately grasps your attention. Spot-UV is a very unique finishing gloss because it can point out the detail of any design.
This is the back of our standard business card. The owl is coated with a layer of luscious Spot-UV. The Owl against the white card completely stands out and exposes the very fine details of the illustration, and all it takes is a splash of our Spot-UV. The back of any business card is extremely valuable. The reason is you have all of your contact information in the front, so no need to state the same on the back. Show who you are and your personality on the back side and you will have yourself an unforgettable business card. Since Ben is an illustrator it’s important for him to of course showcase his art and work and the back of the card does it nicely. While Spot-UV brings the card to life it also protects it from wear and tear and keeps it looking new. Don’t let the back of your business card go to waste.
Spot-UV isn’t only for business cards, it can be used for an array of printing products and as we can see it greatly enhances the overall look. The“Ornate Elephant,” was placed on our 5 x 7 postcard and also is using Spot-UV. As you can see in the first image of the”Ornate Elephant,” is shining quite a bit. If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary and highly impressive, Spot-UV can enhance anything from a company name to a highly intricate design such as the illustrations we used from visual designer and illustrator Ben Kwok. Start using our one-of-a-kind Spot-UV today and see the difference.
There is something about art and designing that captures the heart and makes us feel in awe, and that is what Ben Kwok provided us. He is a graphic artist and illustrator who was born in Taiwan but currently lives in Los Angeles, California. He is passionate about his work and has an undying love for art that is transferred over into every drawing and every illustration that he creates. However, getting to where he is now took some time and took overcoming many obstacles. He loves creating pieces that are filled with complexity and losing himself in the flow of his art. His highly detailed work is what stunned us along with his close attention to detail.
We are thrilled that we had the opportunity to interview the artistic genius, and also combine his beautiful artwork with some of our products which will be in our next blog.
What made Ben Kwok become an illustrator?
“I remember vividly at the age of 7 I wanted to be a veterinarian or a cartoonist. I wanted to be a vet because I absolutely love animals and wanted to work with them for a living. Who knew there was so much education that was required to become a vet and then there was the option of being a cartoonist…
I actually really liked comic books at the time, but I didn’t know the difference so I just went with cartoonist. Fast forward to college, I was still not sure what I wanted to do, so I started off as a Graphic Designer. After my first semester at school, I hated it all. I wanted to draw and not play with fonts and layouts. That’s when I discovered ILLUSTRATION; I never looked back. I get to actually draw with traditional mediums, pencil on paper, paint on canvas, everything made sense. Besides, drawing was the only thing I was good at, so it was easy for me to make the decision to do something art related.”
“The “Ornate Elephant” is my most memorable illustration. I keep telling this story, but I feel like it’s important to share. To back track a bit I hated my job as a graphic artist at a company I will not mention. So I decided to do something about it and look for another job. I was able to find another job and started working for a new company. After only 1 week they decided to lay me off. I was so angry, bitter, lost, and just beaten up by the apparel industry. Since I had no plan B, I decided to just draw for fun. To draw whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and however I wanted with no one to answer to. That’s what gave birth to my Ornate Elephant drawing. I decided to post it online and that’s when it started getting traction. People really liked the illustration so I decided to focus all of my attention into this style of artwork. What made the Ornate Elephant most memorable was the fact that I drew something for myself and I got to fall in love with art all over again. Even when I was unemployed, had no options, I was so happy and in peace because I found my passion again.”
Talk about your influence by H.R Giger and Alfonse Mucha?
“I fell in love with H.R. Giger while I was in high school and discovered Alfonse Mucha in college. I really love the dark complex images that Giger created.
The fusion of machine and flesh really spoke to me. I love how much detail, texture, and darkness he puts into his artwork. His style was known as “Bio-mechanics”, so since I loved his work so much, I decided to take on the moniker BIOWORKZ, because that’s what all the cool kids were doing back in the day. Then I stumbled upon Alfonse Mucha’s work and it totally blew my mind. His work is almost the exact opposite of Giger’s work. It has lots of rich colors, soft curving lines, with lots of focus on the flow of the lines. Mucha’s work inspired me to play with different line widths and the way every line flows seamlessly into each other. Both Giger and Mucha are masters at what they do and I would like to reach their greatness one day. Giger brought us “Bio-mechanics”, Mucha brought us “Art nouveau,” and I would like to be known as the person that brought “Ornate” artwork into the mainstream.”

Business cards may be small but they carry much more weight than we think. A business card is a prominent tool that opens up doors for communication and business. It’s a great marketing tool no matter where you might be. The overall attractiveness of the card will grab the receivers attention and will be memorable. Remember many people see hundreds of business cards and they don’t remember any of them. The key is to make a card that will set you apart and make a statement. How do you do this? Don’t use a standard card, do something different and think outside the box!
Most people only think of the standard business card, what they don’t realize these days is that there are many new and modern twists to business cards.
The FAT Business Card
What’s great about this card is it feels great and is made with ultra-thick stock card. FAT business cards are high-quality and super durable. This card is unique and will create a lasting-impression. Made with strong 34-point card stock and full 4-4 color printing.
Overnight Prints is always coming up with new and modern business cards. The Square Card is one of the trendiest and stylish cards to date. This card is far from traditional and will get you noticed! Made with 52-point card stock and full 4-4 color printing. Just like your quality card your receiver will know you have valuable quality to offer.
The Mini Business Card
These are great to use for social cards! List different social media outlets that you use, along with usernames for a classy, modern twist. These cards are made of quality 15-point stock card. They might be mini but they are mighty!
Business cards are versatile promotional tools that can be formal or informal, depending on the type of image you want to portray. They’re a must for networking events, and are ideal for promoting your business and yourself. Write down promotions on your cards, or design them as appointment reminders, to name a few of the different ways you can make use of this powerful marketing tool.
Another good idea is to take it one step further and display your talent—freelance artists and designers who want to not only network with others and gather a buzz about their work, but showcase a little sample of what they do at the same time, might consider a colorful logo or an illustration sample of their work, so as to display their talent subtly and without much effort. (Because, let’s face it, you can’t carry your 4′ x 6′ photo prints everywhere!)
So, what can you include on your card? In addition to the obvious necessities—name, title, company name, telephone numbers and email address—a business card should display your social media contact details, which is a great way to network with others in an informal manner. People often hesitate calling others, but are more comfortable adding someone to their Facebook friends list. It also helps you create the impression that you’re up-to-date with new technologies and social trends, and not still stuck in the Alexander Graham Bell age! It really is up to you what design you choose or the information you put down on your business card.
Many variables play a role in how your print marketing materials are perceived by potential customers. Your copy, your offer, and your design are three considerations upon which the utmost importance is placed. But there’s more to customer influence than what goes on your postcards, posters, business cards, catalogs, and other print marketing materials. In fact, some of the most subtle nuances of your presentation can help your brand leave a lasting impact and motivate direct sales. Your choice of paper stock is one of those variables.
Paper stock matters because it directly impacts how your designs look when printed on paper as well as how your marketing materials feel in your customers’ hands. The following details reasons why paper stock is indeed important to maximizing your return on investment.
Good Paper Stock Enhances Your Design
Glossy paper stocks make your designs more brilliant, so that they practically pop off the page. Matte paper stocks enrich your colors and add depth to your designs. Both lend impressions of your company that cannot be conveyed by words alone: authority, confidence, trustworthiness, attitude, success, and other identity-related adjectives.
Good Paper Stock Comforts Customers
Premium paper stocks don’t just look pretty; they feel good, too. When customers hold a smooth, thick, robust business card they feel as though your company can be trusted, because your company’s card is professional. The best part is you can get professional printing on premium paper stocks at deep discounts when you know where to look. Think about which company you would trust if two competitors handed you business cards: one, flimsy and flat; the other thick and glossy.
Premium Paper Stock Maximizes ROI
Not only will customers be more impressed and comfortable doing business with you, but your marketing materials will last longer with wear, tear and weather. That means you get to put your campaigns to work longer on a single investment, thus maximizing your return.
What are the Best Paper Stocks?
The best paper stock depends on the project in question and how it will be deployed. You can go to any product on the Overnight Prints website to learn more about the benefits of each specific paper stock. You might learn, for example, that you could print business cards on standard premium-quality 14-point paper stock with a glossy coating on one or both sides (for penning in appointments on the fly). Or, print an even thicker 16-point gloss business card.
Not sure what paper stock to print on for your business cards? It all depends on what impression you want to leave on customers and your overall brand image.
First, let’s assume you want to print professional-looking business cards. You can instantly throw out the flimsy, cheap business card paper stocks many discount printers have. You do want to yield a return on your investment, after all. Next, consider the following questions:
Is your company new, fresh, exciting, or innovative?
A glossy 14-point or 16-point paper stock might be the best choice.
Is your company bold, cutting edge, or authoritative?
Go with a thick and robust 16-point gloss paper stock. Add a UV coating for an extra-thick, extra-glossy sheen.
Is your company traditional, new age, or artsy?
Try a 13-point matte paper stock, which adds richness and depth to your colors and design.
Do you often set appointments or jot down additional information for customers on the fly?
A 14-point glossy paper stock, coated on one side only, will give you the fresh appeal of gloss on the front and the ability to write with a pen or pencil on the back.
Follow these tips, and you will be able to print a professional-looking business card that enhances your design, feels great in your customers’ hands, and promotes your brand image at the same time.
The fact that we live in an increasingly technological world is not a groundbreaking idea to most. This trend, of course, also applies to the business world. It is an undeniable fact that almost all data, including contact details, are stored electronically nowadays. Regardless of how technologically-based business has become, the fact remains that plain old business cards can still be relevant.
Below are some reasons why business cards are still important even in 2012:
Business Cards Increase Name Recall
Simple truth: Human beings (this includes your potential customers) does increase the chances of being remembered – no matter the actual physical layout of the card or what kind of work you’re in. Wouldn’t you rather see a customer walking away with your business card than walking away with nothing? Business cards really do help a person stand out and be relevant.
Business Cards Are Easier to Hand Out in Large Crowds
Given the technological savvy of most consumers these days, business cards should theoretically have been phased out. After all, you could simply store names, addresses, and phone numbers on your phone now. As is true with a lot of other ideas that SEEM like they should be true, this is not always the case. Storing numbers electronically is fine when on a one-on-one setting. But imagine the horror should you find yourself somewhere like a business convention. Who has the time to store every number in your phone? And after it’s all said and done, would you even remember who these new friends are with nothing but a name and a number to help you?
With business cards, you can continue giving your pitch to that important investor without that awkward pause whenever he tries to type in your contact info into his smartphone – he could do that at a later time like, you know, when you’re done talking.
You can literally throw business cards around a convention and someone will surely pick one up. While that last statement sounds ridiculous (and not something I’d recommend you try; but hey, they’re your business cards so do whatever you want with them), I’d say it’s still better than introducing yourself one person at a time hoping someone actually stores your number for reference.
But if you’re all about technology – you know, the kind that can barely watch TV shows on a TV anymore, fret not. Business cards can be modern too…
Business Cards Can Be Customized to Fit Your Market
Your business cards don’t have to be dull. Try to be creative so you can have business cards that are custom built for your customers. You can print business cards in custom shapes. You’d be surprised by the variety of business cards out today. Again, you are only limited by your imagination. Use your cards, not only to provide contact information, but to also promote your company and brand.
Business Cards Are Good for SEO
I know how much marketers have thrown the term “SEO” around and for good reason. These days, almost everything is done online. Even if you’re not running an e-commerce business, there’s a good chance you still have an online presence (you should have at least a Facebook page). Having those URLs in your business cards will help boost your inbound traffic.
There you have it. These are just a few of the reasons why business cards are important.
You don’t have to be a millionaire to be an art collector.
“Along with the faint whiff of pre-digital social grace, she seemed to be offering a bit of hope, and she was somehow willing, with a 2-by-3.5-inch bit of card stock, to stand by her word.”
You’ve heard of the elevator speech.
That’s when you have from 30 seconds to one minute to pitch your organization, your product or yourself to a policy maker, venture capitalist or potential employer. It may not occur on an actual elevator. But savvy CEOs, entrepreneurs and salespeople commonly practice their elevator speeches and use it in business and their personal life.
A business card is like an elevator speech, except you only have about 3 seconds to define yourself and your value proposition.
Three…seconds. Probably less time than it took you to read the preceding paragraph.
And in those three seconds you have to convey who you are and what you stand for. A tough assignment.
Most business is still conducted face-to-face. If you fail at the moment you hand someone your business card, the consequences can be dire.
Most business cards are pretty boring. They don’t have to be. How do we communicate something serious in a way that is memorable yet whimsical, makes a point but isn’t frivolous?
A cartoon is a very effective means of communication. It makes an instant impression. Gapingvoid business card cartoon art is designed to open doors and initiate a conversation with people. Face-to-face.
Use a cartoon to make that first impression. You might not get a second chance.
Choose a cartoon and add personal details to create your own gapingvoid business card.
One of the secrets in life is finding people who are similarly aligned. How do you find people who believe what you believe, people who want what you want, and do what they do for the same reason you do?
New gapingvoid business cards from Overnight Prints!
With everyone’s attention fixated on the Internet we tend to forget that most business is still face-to-face. If you fail at the moment you shake someone’s hand for the first time, the consequences can be dire.
This was more obvious when that’s all there was, but in many industries not much has changed. Face to face sales calls, conventions, trade shows, are still big drivers, the fact is that for many businesses, the Internet just leads to more Read more
We thought that it was about time that Overnight Prints made something that talked about ourselves as a company and about the things that differentiate us from our competitors. But we didn’t want this video to be a typical corporate affair with a man in a suit telling people how great our company is! Instead, we wanted to make something that really speaks to our designer and small business customers about our quality printing, our fast delivery service, and our green company policies.
Stationery is not always the most Exciting of print products! I have seen many business cards, letterhead, and envelope sets that have filled me with design despair with their lack of vision and originality! Unfortunately, I suspect that designers don’t give stationery enough thought and create something that is little more than a logo and line of text on a bit of paper!!!
It doesn’t have to be so! The following stationery designs by some insanely talented graphic design professionals is proof that corporate identity can be as cool, sophisticated, and interesting as you want to make it! I hope these brilliant designs give you the inspiration you need to create your own outstanding stationery
I work with these products all the time and I’m often being told by our customers how they’ve used our print products in new and interesting ways. After discussing this subject with some of our customers, I was given a “top 3” list of their favorite “alternative” uses for our print products.
In the small business world, there is a growing business card trend for making them more “hand crafted” (e.g, hand-stamped business cards) and for taking them to another level by making a business card fulfill another function (e.g, fancy labels, decorations, jewelry holders, etc.) With a little thought and effort, you can make your business cards into something REALLY PERSONAL!
When was the last time you stepped back and really took a peek at your business cards, rack brochures, pamphlets and flyers? When was the last time you really wondered if they needed some tweaking, some revamping and some fine tuning? If you’re like most of us, that will probably be quite some time ago. If you’re like most of us, that’s probably a bad, bad thing. The good news is, this is a fixable situation. The bad news is, you have to fix it.
How many of you out there have wandered onto a car lot, grabbed your checkbook and bought a car without ever taking the car for a test drive? Yeah, probably not many, if any. It’s completely reasonable, fair and wise to want to take the car for a spin, kick the tires a little, and really find out if it’s the car for you before you invest your money into it. Why should your business’s advertising materials be any different? Should you just click on the very first website you find, upload your design and hope for the best? No. You shouldn’t, and there’s an alternative.
Is cell phone and Internet technology killing the business card? Over the last two decades, print promotion has certainly taken a slight downward turn as businesses embrace web-based promotion and turn away from flyers, business cards, magazine ads, and the printed word.
In the 1980’s the business card was king. It was absolutely essential for all businessmen and women to have a “killer” business card. The business card was often the key to successful social and business networking. Over the last 20 years, advances in cell phone technology have created a situation where people can swap numbers and information using their cell phones. It’s a fact that more people own a cell phone than a set of business cards!
