CES 2022 re-enters the arena with an eye on future tech
Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the biggest tech conference that showcases the latest and emerging technology and electronics. The COVID-19 pandemic forced last year’s show to become solely digital, but next year CES will be back with an exciting hybrid format; held both online and physically scheduled from January 5th through 8th at the Las Vegas Convention Center with a media preview beginning January 3rd. The upcoming event format allows more people from all over the world to attend this memorable event while attracting new audiences who may not be able to participate otherwise.
Over 1600 companies are confirmed to exhibit at the upcoming show on site. Among them are world-famous tech giants such as Amazon, AMD, AT&T, Dell, Google, Hyundai, IBM, Intel, Lenovo, LG, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Samsung, and Sony.
Can anyone attend CES?
Registration to join the Las Vegas-based conference in person is already open, and attendees must be vaccinated with the vaccines approved by the World Health Organisation. Attendees must have their proof of vaccination verified through the Clear document verification system.
With fully vaccinated international travelers being welcomed back into the United States, a similar third-party solution will be used for attendees from outside the US, to confirm vaccination.
The association announced that registration for people who want to attend the event digitally would begin in December.
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) will follow coronavirus safety guidelines set by the CDC as well as state and local authorities of Nevada to ensure a safe event for attendees.
How will this be different?
This January, CES 2022 will be bigger and better than ever, with an expanded physical presence at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The additional space will be used to display the latest developments in automotive engineering with the main focus on electric and autonomous vehicles.
A new and improved hybrid format.
The main factor of the CES 2022 is to benefit both in-person and digital audiences. The digital platform provided by Web Summit will connect the virtual audience, the onsite exhibitors, and other attendees.
The live streaming of some sessions and major product announcements will allow interrelation between the live audience and virtual viewers. All sessions and event content will be available on-demand streaming service for one month after the event, allowing all attendees to catch up on all sessions later.
According to Karen Chupka, the head of CES at the Consumer Technology Association, this hybrid format will bring a digital audience into the sessions at the physical show and connect people from all over the world. In addition, the online platform allows attendees and exhibitors to organize virtual appointments and video conferences to create a feeling of being inside an exhibit hall.
