Unleash you creativity and sleep peacefully

When are you most creative? When do your million dollar ideas surface?

  • Did you know that you can tap into your greatest potential between the hours of two and five a.m.?
  • That’s what a famous international author believes.
  • He’s even revealed that he wrote one of his bestselling books during these early morning hours.

People everywhere often awaken during the wee hours of the morning. At first glance, it appears to be nature calling. But several years ago in a newly released book, author Wayne Dyer discussed this phenomenon.

Dyer created the content for that very book, by writing daily, between two and five a.m.

  • He believes that when he writes during the pre-dawn hours of the day, it is not him. It is “Source.”He theorizes that we reach our greatest potential before daybreak.
  • Dyer suggests “we have our guards down; we are most vulnerable and open to creativity when we awaken between two and five in the morning.”

He encourages readers to journal during what he considers these peak hours. I was intrigued so I decided to give it a shot. After a few three a.m. journals entries, his theory began to resonate with me.

I was able to tap into a deeper level of creativity and uncover profound new ideas.

It seems that the distractions of the day can prevent us from accessing our highest potential because our minds are racing with deadlines, to-do lists and other stimuli.

Whatever it is that is keeping you from a restful sleep, try this experiment:

  1. The next time your body awakens you early in the morning, push yourself to stay awake for a few minutes.
  2. Write down whatever is on your mind. The content is irrelevant. List your fears, concerns, goals or random thoughts.
  3. Write for at least a few minutes before you go back to sleep.

You may not discover profound solutions on the first few attempts. However, if you challenge yourself to pick up the pen a couple of times per week, you might be amazed. You may uncover an effective new business strategy, or solve a nagging concern. At the very least, you’ll have a new tool to unload your worries and frustrations. And you’ll revel in your new-found tranquility.

It’s true! Those periods just before sleep and after one awakes (hypnogogic and hypnopompic states) are times when the subconscious, which houses our creative imagination, is accessible. If you make a simple request just as you are drifting off for a creative solution or even input a positive suggestion your dynamic subconscious mind will go to work on it! I’m not sure if it’s “Source”, but it is pretty amazing.
How do I know this stuff? I’ve worked for over a decade as a hypnotherapist, helping clients use their inner minds to improve their lives.
